ANEEL will monitor power distribution works necessary for the World Cup

The board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) decided to authorize the Monitoring Superintendency of Electricity Services (PES) to monitor and inspect the works indicated as priorities by 12 distributors to meet the demand of the host cities of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, in Brazil. The decision was made ​​during a public meeting this Tuesday (10/18). 

An order shall be published stating the schedule of works and monitoring frameworks. 

The 12 distributors are: CEEE (RS), Light (RJ), Eletropaulo (SP), Coelba (BA), Celpe (PE), Cosern (RN), Coelce (CE), Copel (PR), Cemig (MG), CEB (DF), Cemat (MT) and AME (Manaus/AM). These companies indicated 154 works as priority.

ANEEL will periodically publish, in its website (www.aneel.gov.br) the evolution of these enterprises. Inspection is one of the actions planned under the Working Group established to evaluate the power supply to the capital cities that will host the World Cup. The group is coordinated by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and with the participation of ANEEL.
