The board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) approved on Tuesday (10/18), the resolution which determines that the National Electric System Operator (ONS) has to hire an independent auditing company to audit entry data of the Monthly Operation Program (PMO) and its revisions and data systems established and used by the National Electric
System Operator (CNOS), with an impact on the electro energetic planning and accounting of the Energy Commercialization House (CCEE).
The new regulation, which will be published shortly in the Official Journal (DOU), will replace Resolution No. 366/2009. According to the new standard, the audit will be monthly and the data should be available on the ONS website (www.ons.org.br ) until the last day of the month following the operating month. Annually, the audit report will consolidate a board to be routed by the operator to the Board to be decided upon by the General Assembly.
The subject was under public hearing (Public Hearing No. 045/2011), for exchange of documents, from 08/18 to 09/02/2011. The Agency decided to discuss the issue with the company because of the importance of establishing effective mechanisms to monitor the ONS periodically and thus prevent occurrences in the electricity market and the operation of the National Interconnected System (SIN). Contributions were sent to six parties, including associations and power companies, besides the ONS itself.
