Hearing for the fourth revision of the Module 8 of PRODIST has started

The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) proposes to establish a limit to the energy supply disruptions occurring in critical days*, to encourage the performance of the speed distribution in these situations. This limit will change the Maximum Duration of Continuous Interruption (DMIC) indicator per consumer unit that, according to the proposal, will include in its calculation the events of those days. The proposal will be the aim of Public Hearing No. 064/2011, approved by the executive board at the public meeting last Tuesday (10/18).

Although the audience does not propose the discussion of the concept of "critical day", the contributions sent by agents and society could subsidize a future revision of the concept as well as other partners, including instances of emergency application purges and applied to the determination of continuity indicators. There is a prediction of a more comprehensive discussion on the subject in early 2012, according to the programming of the Superintendency of Regulation of Distribution Services (SRD).

The discussion about the limits of the continuity indicators is important, because when there is noncompliance with these indicators, the distributors must pay financial compensation to their consumers. In the first six months of 2011, consumers received BRL 163.77 million in compensation. Read more.

Interested parties may submit proposals to the e-mail address: ap064_2011@aneel.gov.br from 10/20 to 11/18. Contributions can also be forwarded by fax to number (55 61) 2192-8839 or to the address of the Agency (SGAN, Quadra 603, Módulo I, Térreo, Protocolo Geral, CEP: 70.830-030), in Brasília (DF). (GL/LQ/PG)

* Critical Day: A day when the number of emergency events in a particular set of consumer units, exceeds the average plus three standard deviations of daily values. The average and standard deviation to be used are those relating to the 24 (twenty four) months preceding the current year, including the critical days which have already been identified. Module I of Prodist.
