The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) has enabled the expansion of the installed capacity of Thermal Power Plant (TPP) Unidade de Bioenergia Água Emendada,granted to Companhia Brasileira de Energia Renovável – Brenco, located in the municipality of Perolândia (Goiás). The decision was made at the last public meeting of the Board (10/25).
The installed capacity of the plant, which uses bagasse as fuel, will rise from 72.7 megawatts (MW) to 79.8 MW, with two generating units.
The expansion is aimed at improving the performance of the TPP because its fuel will be consumed in a short period during the year in order to take advantage of better weather conditions and prevent its degradation. (FA/GL).
