The board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) authorized the reimbursement of costs to Empresa Metropolitana de Água e Energia (EMAE) concerning the implementation of enhanced facilities in Henry Borden Power Plant. The total value of BRL 1.08 million will be transferred to the company in a single payment of charges by the System Service Charges (ESS).
The recommendation was made to strengthen the National System Operator (ONS) in the Systemic Interest Modernization Plan (PMIS) 2009-2012. According to the report of the board, the circuit breakers of generating units at the 88 kV bus of the Henry Borden substation must be replaced due to overcoming of the short circuit ability.
Normative Resolution No. 330/2008 established the criteria and procedures for the reimbursement of costs relating to the adequacy of facilities belonging to the Power Generating Plants (CGEE), caused by configuration changes in the electrical system. The formal recommendation from the ONS is among the conditions for classifying a work in a facility owned by the CGEE as reinforcement and therefore subject to reimbursement through the ESS.
The deadline for the supply and installation of equipment will be 11 months as of the publication of the authorizing resolution. If there is delay in the start of commercial operations, 5% of the total amount of compensation authorized for each month of delay will be reduced. (PG / GL).
