The collegiate board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) approved the signing of the concession contract with Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio – CBA today (16) for exploiting the Jurupará Hydroelectric Plant.The plant will be installed in the city of Piedade (SP) and it has 7.2 MW of installed power.
In September of this year, the Ministry of Mines and Energy extended the concession for 20 years at no cost and thus ANEEL had to approve the contract, as stipulated in art.2 of MME Administrative Rule no. 521/2011.
The HEP was granted to Sociedade Anônima Indústrias Votorantim, in the Self-Production of Energy Regime (AP), in 1945. In 1996, the grant was transferred to CBA, through DNAEE Administrative Rule no. 089, of 3/15/1996.
The extension will start counting from 2006, the year the HEP concession expired.(PG/FA).
