Last Wednesday (11/16), the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) collegiate board decided to reopen Public Hearing No. 036/2011, which aims at improving Resolutions No. 390/2011 and No. 391/2011, which establish the requirements needed for authorizing exploration and alterations in installed capacity at thermoelectric plants, wind energy plants and plants using other alternative sources of energy. The resolutions also deal with the procedures for registering reduced capacity generation centers.
The decision was taken after ascertaining the need for improving the methodology for reducing the risk of interference among wind energy parks.Another objective is to discuss the projected contribution by the Faithful Compliance Guarantee as a condition for obtaining approval for exploring wind energy enterprises.
Although the hearing has been reopened, it was decided that for approval requirements protocoled by December 31, 2012, wind measurement studies containing one year of data will be accepted. However, for approval requirements later than December 2012, three years of data will be needed.
Wind measurement is required when requesting approval and it was one of the subjects discussed during Public Hearing No. 036/2011, which was open for 20 days in June. Those interested in contributing in the second phase of the hearing can send their suggestions from 11/18 to 12/9 to the email: ap036_2011_fase2@aneel.gov.br, or by fax (61) 2192-8839 or to the ANEEL mailing address at SGAN, Quadra 603, Módulo I, Térreo, Protocolo Geral, CEP:70830-030), in Brasília (FD).(PG/GL).
