The collegiate board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) authorized Cooperativa Geradora de Energia Elétrica e Desenvolvimento Santa Maria (CEESAM) to operate as an independent producer of electric energy through the installation and exploration of the Santa Maria small hydroelectric plant (SHP).The decision was made at a board meeting held last Wednesday (11/16). The plant, located in the municipality of Benedito Novo, Santa Catarina, will have 3.2 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity.
Today (11/18), ANEEL’s Generation Database (BIG) registers the existence of 1010 independent producers of electric energy authorized by the Agency.See the list of agents in the BIG here. It can also be accessed on the Agency’s website at (www.aneel.gov.br), in Technical Information.The database is updated continuously.(DB/GL)
