This Friday (11/18), the collegiate board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) approved the edict for Auction no. 7/2011 for the purchase of electricity from hydroelectric, wind and biomass or combined cycle gas thermoelectric generation enterprises.

The beginning of supply from the contracted enterprises is scheduled for January 1, 2016, with the signing of Contacts for the Commercialization of Energy in a Regulated Environment (CCEAR) in the modalities by quantity of energy (water sources) with a duration period of 30 years, and by availability (wind and thermoelectric sources) with a duration of 20 years.

In the case of hydroelectric plants, the winners will also receive approval of the concession for use of the public good destined to the independent production of energy.At this auction, participation of the hydroelectric complex of Parnaíba (PI/MA) stands out, comprised of the Estreito Parnaíba, Castelhano and Cachoeira plants, and five new hydroelectric plants:Ribeiro Gonçalves (PI/MA), Cachoeira Caldeirão (AP), São Roque (SC), São Manoel (MT/PA) and Sinop (MT).These plants total 1,750 Megawatts (MW) of installed power.

The Parnaíba Complex will be auctioned in block, without the possibility of the Estreito Parnaíba, Cachoeira and Castelhano hydroelectric plants being auctioned separately.

Also, 377 electric energy generation enterprises were registered for this auction at the Energy Research Company (EPE).Altogether, the plants have an installed capacity of 24,253.6 megawatts (MW).The water source plants have until 12/15 to present their environmental license to the EPE.Wind and thermal energy plants have until 12/1.

The auction, set for December 20, will be operationalized by the Chamber of Electric Energy Commercialization (CCEE), in accordance with the guidelines from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), stipulated in Administrative Rule no. 566/2011.See below the reference prices for the enterprises.(FA/GL).
