The purchase and sale rates of electric energy Furnas Centrais Elétricas S/A and Eletrobrás Termonuclear S/A (Eletronuclear) with effect as of December 5, 2011, and December 4, 2012, were approved by the executive board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL), at a meeting held today (11/22). The rates refer to the electricity purchased by Furnas and produced by nuclear power plants Angra I and II.
With the decision, the fee to be charged by Eletronuclear corresponds to BRL 148.79/MWh (real per megawatt hour), which is 2.28% higher than that applied last year (BRL 145.48/MWh). The value of the reference rate was approved at BRL 130.29/MWh.
The rate was calculated to be practiced according to Law No. 12111/09 and took into consideration the cost of fuel provided by Eletronuclear and the IPCA (National Price Index to the Wide Consumer). This fee will be applied provisionally until ANEEL inspects the value estimated by Eletronuclear.
Nuclear power plants Angra I and II have an installed capacity of 657 megawatts (MW) and 1,350 MW respectively. The two stations are controlled by Eletronuclear located in the city of Angra dos Reis (RJ). (DB/CN).
