The board of the National Energy Agency set today (06), during a public meeting, the amount of contracted power and connected energy from the Itaipu power plant (HPP) to be marketed in 2012 by Eletrobrás with their electric power distribution of the South and Southeast/Midwest subsystems and values corresponding to quotas that should be considered in the proration of power and energy for 2017. Check here the values set by ANEEL.
According to Law No. 5.899/1973 the totality of the energy portion acquired by Brazil from Itaipu and the respective cost will be distributed between distributors of southeast-midwest and south subsystems on proportion quotas intended to them by the Grantor. Quotas-parts for 2017 were calculated observing values concerning market billed from captive consumers of each shareholding concessionaire, verified in the period from September 2010 to August 2011, as established by Resolution No. 331/2008.
At this meeting, the Agency defined the proportional division of losses between the gross and net measurements of Itaipu, calculated as a function of energy that is allocated for distribution to shareholders and Eletrobrás. The sharing of these energy losses will be made in proportion of 78.84% for companies and 21.16% for Eletrobrás. For the definition of these percentages, we considered the amount of energy linked to the distributors and the total energy delivered by the Itaipu Interconnected System (SIN) in the period from November 2010 to October 2011.
