The National Energy Agency approved today (12/13) the allocation of BRL 4.3 billion to finance the Energy Development Account (CDE) in 2012.
The account was created by Law No. 10,438 of 2002 to promote the competitiveness of energy produced from sources such as wind, small hydro, biomass, natural gas and national coal, in areas served by the interconnected systems; promote universal service of electricity across the national territory, and resources to ensure compliance with grant aimed at economic reasonableness of the supply rate of electricity to final consumers members of the Low Income Residential Subclass.
The CDE is maintained by annual payments made by way of use of public properties (UBP), fines levied by ANEEL and payments of annual quotas by all the agents who sell electricity to final consumers.
The Agency has set the annual quotas of the CDE for 2012, for the agents, in BRL 3.7 billion.Since the expected value for the payment of UBP by dams is BRL 556.9 million and must be collected in 12 monthly installments according to the concession contracts, with credit to the CDE, the specific account of ELETROBRAS-CDE.
As for the deposits made in payment of fines during the period from November 2010 to October 2011, a reserve totaled BRL 104.5 million.Below are the price paid per item for financing the CDE in 2012. (FA/DB).
