The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) approved today (12/13) the public hearing for the receipt of contributions to the draft of 2012’s first transmission auction. The contest will be divided into five lots, with projects in the states of Amazonas, Bahia, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, and Rio de Janeiro. The facilities are expected to start commercial operation within 18 to 44 months as from the date of signing of the concession agreements.
The works are part of the 2012-2014 Basic Network expansion plan and a number of structures encompass the transmission structures for the flow of the power produced in the hydropower plant (HPP) Teles Pires (MT).
The document under hearing proposes amendments to the public notice of auction 006/2011. One of them provides for the exclusion of the concession grant issuance stage to provide greater speed for the process. Another point is the restriction regarding participation in the contest by investors with stakes greater than 20% or who lead consortiums, or who have been fined for delays in implementation of works in the last 24 months.
Contributions to the public notice draft may be submitted from 12/15 to 1/9 to the e-mail ap076_2011@aneel.gov.br, by fax +55 61 2192-8839 or to ANEEL’s address at SGAN, Quadra 603, Módulo I, Térreo, Protocolo Geral, CEP: 70830-030, in Brasília (DF).
