The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) approved the feasibility studies of Usina Hidrelétrica Castelhano, planned to be built in Rio Parnaíba in the states of Piauí and Maranhão. The approval from the Agency was published in the Official Journal on Tuesday (12/13), through Order No. 4771. With the approval of the studies, their energy can be sold in the next A-5 auction, scheduled for 12/20. The start of commercial operation of the first generating unit is scheduled for 01/01/2016.
The plant, whose feasibility studies have been presented by Companhia Hidrelétrica do São Francisco (CHESF), will have an installed capacity of 64 megawatts (MW), with a physical guarantee of 46.2 average megawatts (MWmed).
Also on Tuesday, were published in the Official Journal Orders No. 4775, 4776, 4777 and 4781, which decided to return in the analysis stage, respectively, the hydroelectric inventory studies of Córrego do Lajeado, the review of studies on hydroelectric inventory of Rio Piolhinho and Ribeirão Água Verde and hydropower inventory studies of Rio Leão. All of them were returned by the lack of technical content suitable for the characterization of the hydroelectric potential of the basins studied. (HP/BT).
