The 365 kilometer Açailândia-Miranda II transmission line in Maranhão will be constructed by the Linha de Transmissão Integração Maranhense Consortium comprised of Elecnor Transmissão de Energia S.A.(51%) and Copel Geração e Transmissão S.A.(49%). The enterprise won the dispute for Lot I at the last Transmission auction no.006/2011, held this Friday (12/16), by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL).

The company’s final bid of R$ 26,643,006.00 was 40% lower than the Permitted Annual Revenue (PAR) initially stipulated by the Agency.PAR is the revenue to which a company has the right for providing transmission service after the start of commercial operations at the installations.

The lot received four initial bids, but since the difference between the two lower bids was greater than 5%, there were no live bids.

Construction of the Açailândia-Miranda II transmission line is projected to take 24 months after signing of the concession contract, with an expected generation of 1,805 direct jobs. The line will increase electric energy transmission capacity between the north and northeast, while providing greater reliability in power supply to the capital of Maranhão.
