The college board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) will hold tomorrow (1/17) the first Ordinary Meeting of 2012, as from 10 AM, at the Agency’s headquarters. The meeting, broadcast in real time on the ANEEL website, shall primarily address the approval of the result of the Transmission Auction 006/2011, promoted on 12/16/2011, the opening of the public hearing for improvement of the Public Notice of Auction 01/2012, named A-3, and approval of the revision of Risk Aversion curves for the biennium 2012-2013.
The directors will evaluate four administrative appeals filed by electricity distributors against violation notices issued by ANEEL. The highest fines to be revised were applied to the Espírito Santo Centrais Elétricas S/A (Escelsa), at R$7.7 million, and the Sociedade Anônima de Eletrificação da Paraíba (Saelpa), at approximately R$1.9 million.
The meeting will also involve the analysis of control transfer consent applications of 17 companies. The Board will consider the change of the installed capacity of the Hydropower Plant (HPP) Salto Pilão, in Santa Catarina, and the change of the installed capacity of three thermal power plants, located in São Paulo and Minas Gerais. Ten locations will be evaluated for receipt of the Declaration of Public Utility in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, and Alagoas.
