The college board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) confirmed this Tuesday (1/17) the approval of the result and award of Transmission Auction 006/2011, held of 12/16/2011, at the headquarters of BMF&Bovespa, in São Paulo. According to the Public Notice, entrepreneurs who won the contest should deliver the schedule, the budget of transmission facilities and Specific Purpose Company (SPC) or transmission concessionaire documents no later than 1/23.

The granting of concessions may be performed up to 30 days upon delivery of the abovementioned documentation. The signing of the agreement still has no defined date. The documents relating to the contest are available on ANEEL’s website (www.aneel.gov.br), on Transmission Public Notices.

The third transmission auction of 2011 had an average discount of 24.89%. Thus, the total Annual Allowable Revenue (RAP)*, which is the compensation ceiling of the winning companies for the operation of the projects, will be R$145,416,832.60, against the R$193,616,460.00 initially established.

Auction 002/2012, the first transmission auction of this year, is scheduled to be held on 3/9 and should bid five lots, with projects in six states. The public notice is being improved following the contributions of Public Hearing 076/2011, which took place from 12/15/2011 to 1/9/2012, and should be submitted for final approval by ANEEL’s Board on 1/31.

In April, transmission auction 003/2012 is being held, with two expected lots in the states of Bahia and Rio Grande do Norte. To date, no public hearing has been opened for discussion of the public notice. The projects should begin operation by February 2014. (BT/PG)
