The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency’s (Aneel) board approved the review of Risk Aversion Curves (RAC) for the South, Southeast/Midwest and Northeast regions for February 2012 to December 2013.
See here the curve values for each of the subsystems. The Risk Aversion Curve is a mechanism that establishes a minimum level of hydroelectric reservoir storage needed for the safe production of energy for the National Interconnected System.Instituted by the Resolution nº 109/2002, of the Electric Energy Crisis Management Chamber (GCE), it functions as an indicator for eventual power outage risks caused by alterations in hydroelectric reservoir storage volume.
The proposal for reviewing curves was in public hearing from 12/18/2011 to 12/23/2011. During this period, the proposal received seven contributions from sector agents.(DB/PG).
