The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) authorized last Tuesday (1/17), during a public meeting of the Board, the transfer of the controlling interest of 15 companies, according to the table below.

The Agency also determined that the recipient companies of the controlling interest should send to ANEEL’s Economic and Financial Supervision Superintendence a certified copy of the documents supporting formalization of the operation, within 30 days following the effective date.
In the case of transfer of control of Bioenergia Geração e Comercialização de Energia do Nordeste Ltda. (BEN), given the information that the company is a defaulter at the Electricity Commercialization Chamber (CCEE), approval of the transfer is subject to payment of the discharged debt by Brasilterm Energia S/A. Brasilterm is also subject to penalties for failing to request prior approval of its operation by ANEEL.
