The National Agency for Electrical Energy (ANEEL) decided today (31/01), in a public meeting, to maintain the tariff on power transfer from Itaipu Binational plant at US$24.88 per kilowatt per month (/kW.month), the same value exercised in 2011 and in January of 2012.
The maintenance of the tariff will come into effect as from tomorrow (01/02). The Agency is waiting for Eletrobrás to inform the unit cost of electricity service from Itaipu Binational to calculate the value for the following months of 2012 and also to carry out compensation of months which kept the same value in 2011.
The tariff on power transfer from the plant is applied to the provision of electricity services, which is funded by 30 shareholder distributors for hydroelectric energy acquisition, localized in the southern, southeastern, and midwestern regions.
