ANEEL authorizes Bio Coopcana to serve as independent producer

The companyBio Coopcana S.A. has been authorized by the National Agency for Electrical Energy (ANEEL) to act as an independent electrical energy producer*. With the decision, it will be able to sell part or all of energy produced, of its own account and risk.

The company will explore the Bio Coopcana Thermal Power Plant (UTE), with an installed capacity of 50,000 kilowatts (kW) and which is located in São Carlos do Ivaí (PR). ANEEL's board also established the percentage of 50% reduction to be applied towards tariffs on Use of Electric Transmission Systems (TUST) and Distribution (TUSD), focusing on production and consumption of commercialized energy, as long as the power injected into transmission systems or distribution is less than or equal to 30,000 kW.
