The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) has approved the Basic Revised Project of Small Hydropower (SHP) Tambaú, in Rio Grande do Sul, and the revision of the Hydroelectric Inventory Studies of Jucu Braço Norte River and Jucu Braço Sul River, in Espírito Santo. Orders No. 617 and No. 612, which formally endorsed the basic project and the inventory study were published in editions of the Official Journal of the Union of 08/28 and 02/27, respectively.
SHP Tambaú has capacity of 8.8 megawatts (MW) and is located in Guarita River. It is owned by company Tambaú Energética S./A.
The approved inventory studies refer to Jucu Braço Norte River in the stretch between the outflow channel of the SHP São Pedro to its mouth in the Atlantic Ocean and to Jucu Braço Sul River in the stretch from the tailrace of SHP Jucu until its confluence with Jucu Braço Norte River. Prepared by Small Hydropower JC S/A, these studies have a total power of approximately 46 MW inventoried, distributed in six hydroelectric plants.
With the approval of these studies, the identified hydroelectric plants joins the portfolio of plants available for preparation of feasibility studies and basic design.
