Guaraciaba Consortium takes Lot B

The Guaraciaba Consortium won Lot B of Transmission Auction no. 02/2012 held by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) this Friday (3/9) with a bid worth R$ 73,080,000.00, representing a discount of 36.96%. Like the Sino-Copeliano Consortium that won Lot A, the consortium is comprised of Copel Geração de Energia S/A (49%) and State Grid Brazil Holding S/A (51%).

Lot B is comprised of the Marimbondo II 500 kilowatt (kV) substation, the Ribeirãozinho–Rio Verde Norte and Rio Verde Norte–Marimbondo II 500 KW transmission lines, and the C1 and C2 Marimbondo–Araraquara 500 KW transmission line switching at the Marimbondo II substation in the states of Mato Grosso, Goiás and Minas Gerais. The objective of the transmission lines is to flow energy generated by the Teles Pires and Colider plants. In the future, other plants will be connected to this trunk. The Marimbondo II substation fulfills the functions of serving the Goiânia and Brasília metropolitan regions and providing regional exchange between the Midwest and Southeast. Works should take 32 months with the projected creation of 3,525 direct jobs.
