Lot C of Transmission Auction no. 02/2012 held by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) this Friday (3/9) went to Centrais Elétricas do Norte do Brasil S/A (Eletronorte) for R$ 7,080,000.00, with a discount of 8.98% compared to the initial Permitted Annual Revenue (PAR) established by the Agency. PAR is the revenue to which a company has the right for providing transmission service after the start of commercial operations at the installations.
Lot C is comprised of the Lechuga-Jorge Teixeira 230 Kilowatt (KW) transmission line and the Lechuga substation, located in Manaus (AM). The transmission line was part of Lot C of Transmission Auction no. 06/2011, without any interested parties, last December. The undertaking will be concluded in 20 months after signing the contract. It is expected to generate 390 direct jobs and its main benefit will be to serve the projected growth of the region’s market, solving problems detected in the Manaus electric grid.
