The works for Lot D of Transmission Auction no. 02/2012 held by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) this Friday (3/9) will be constructed by Companhia Hidro Elétrica do São Francisco (Chesf), winner of the auction with a bid worth R$ 10,694,676.00, a sum 5% less than the Permitted Annual Revenue (PAR) initially established by the Agency. PAR is the revenue to which a company has the right for providing transmission service after the start of commercial operations at the installations. Chesf was the only one to bid on the lot.
Lot D is comprised of the Camaçari IV-Pirajá and Pituaçu-Pirajá 230 Kilowatt (KW) transmission lines, and the Pirajá 230/69 KW substation in the state of Bahia. The projected benefits include adequately serving the Salvador metropolitan region, avoiding surcharges in transmission and distribution network circuits and power failures in emergency situations in the region. The works should be concluded in 18 months after signing the concession contract, creating an estimated 640 direct jobs.
