In a public meeting held today (3/13), the board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) levied an R$ 8.9 million fine on Companhia Estadual de Distribuição de Energia Elétrica (CEEE-D).The reason was noncompliance with Equivalent Duration Interruption per Consumer Unit (DEC) and Equivalent Frequency Interruption per Consumer Unit (FEC) indicator goals in 2008.
ANEEL also fined Companhia Hidroelétrica do São Francisco (Chesf) R$ 3.7 million for noncompliance with deadlines for implementing research and development programs for the 2000/2001 and 2001/2002 cycles. The Agency fined Energisa Paraíba Distribuidora de Energia S/A (EPB) R$ 207.1 thousand for lack of safety at the utility’s installations, responsible for accidents in the municipalities of Mulungu, Pilõezinhos and Itaporanga.
Nova Eólica Buriti S/A was fined R$ 14.6 thousand for noncompliance with the installation timetable at the Buriti Wind Energy Generator Central, in Aracaú (CE), and Empresa Catarinense de Transmissão de Energia S/A (ECTE) will have to pay R$ 6.3 thousand for not sending the Standardized Monthly Balance Sheet within the correct deadline in January and February 2009.
The decisions put an end to the possibility of an appeal at the administrative level.Check the table below with details on the infractions. (BT/DB)
