The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) promotes on Friday (03/23) a public hearing in Catanduva (SP) to present the proposal to the preliminary index of the third periodic rate revision of Companhia Nacional de Energia Elétrica (CNEE).
The onsite session will be held at 8hno Senac Catanduva, located at Rua Santos, number 300, Centro. The hearing conducted by the Agency Director Andrew Pepitone da Nóbrega, aims to gather contributions of consumers and representatives of public and private institutions, consumer protection bodies, residents' associations and other civil society groups for the revision process of the concessionaire.
ANEEL's proposal for the revision of CNEE expects average increase of 5.74% for the prices of consumers served by the concessionaire. The distributor provides electricity for 100,000 consumer units distributed among 15 municipalities of Catanduva and Novo Horizonte (SP). Documents relating to the proposal are available in the "Consumer Space" profile, on the link Hearings/Consultations/Forum at the website www.aneel.gov.br.
The rate revision is foreseen in the concession contracts in order to get the balance of rates based on the remuneration of investment companies focused on the provision of distribution services and coverage of expenses actually recognized by ANEEL. It is applied to the distribution companies every four years on average.
Due to the discussions concerning the methodology for the 3rd cycle of periodic rate revisions, there was no time to perform the RTP of CNEE on the date specified in the concession contract (10/05/2011). For this reason, the rates were extended, as required by Resolution No. 471/2011. Read more on rate extension. (DB/BT)
