Agency announces results of studies in rivers Palma (TO) and Alegre (SC)

The of Electrical Energy (ANEEL) published in the Official Journal of the Union (DOU) today (03/23), Order No. 972, which records the approval of hydropower inventory studies of the Palma river, in Tocantins.

The approved studies are restricted to the stretch between the tailrace of the hydroelectric power plant (HPP) Pau d'Arco and the backwater of the reservoir of HPP Peixe Angical. Produced by companies CELG Geração e Transmissão S./A., Centrais Elétricas do Norte do Brasil S./A. andConstrutora Andrade Gutierrez S./A., they scheduled a power totaling approximately 155 megawatts (MW) distributed in two exploitations.

ANEEL also reported in the Journal today Order No. 977, which condemns the hydropower inventory studies of the Alegre river, in Santa Catarina. Submitted by company Omega Energia RenovávelS./A., they did not bring enough information for the Agency to choose the division of falls covering the use of great force of the river, as established in article 15 of ANEEL Resolution No. 393/1998. Order No. 3.311/2009-SGH/ANEEL of 09/02/2009 was revoked to accept the aforementioned studies.

The hydroelectric plant identified joins the portfolio of plants available for preparation of feasibility studies and basic project. The inventory studies already approved by ANEEL, as well as a list of studies that are being analyzed, can be found on the website of the Agency in Hydroelectric Inventory and Studies and Projects Monitoring.
