Energia publishes the thirtieth of the 30 projects selected for the P&D Magazine, 4th Edition, launched on August 17th, 2011, during the Sixth Congress of Technological Innovation in Electric Power (CITENEL) and the II Seminar on Energy Efficiency in the Electricity Sector (SEENEL) held in Fortaleza (CE), Brazil. The goal is to provide society with the results achieved with the P&D projects. Updates on the website will be posted according to the issue of the magazine.
The thirtieth project, by the Bandeirante Energia S / A., demonstrates how the company has developed, in partnership with Wirelex Telecom Ltda.,the Operations and Engineering Platform System to enable the provision of operational data of high voltage substations and equipment of medium voltage network, reported from the concessionaire to the corporate network (intranet). The developed system has a concessionareire-owned authenticator, thus avoiding the losses of a non-secure connection, such as hacking and attacks. The PLATOE also offers integration of various tools, publication of data via web and sensors that allow remote monitoring and local maneuvers. The system is also able to provide data to agencies, to other network systems and private systems or applications for analyses of manufacturers, producing consistent and verified results in a safe environment. The PLATOE can also rebuild information lost by storage units, responding to the concept of disaster recovery (recovery of data in case of disaster). According to Bandeirante, the PLATOE is consolidating itself as an expressive operation, quality, maintenance, planning, engineering andmanagement tool, as a result of its multitasking and multi-module platform.

PLATOE System is the beginning of an intelligent network.
The Operation and Engineering Platform System (PLATOE) is applied to integrate and converge information from different sources as a way to maximize data management. It was created by researchers at Bandeirante Energia and at Wireless Telecommunications. The goal is to enable the provision of operational data of high voltage substations and equipment of the medium voltage network to the corporate network (Intranet) of the concessionaire.Due to operational difficulties to present this data, concessionaires often dealt with a non-secure connection to the servers of the corporate network, making the real-time network vulnerable and subject to hacking and attacks. The newly-developed system has its own authenticator which does not depend on authentication from the telecommunications operator. For this reason, the PLATOE offers cyber security and integration of different tools, display of data and electrical measures on the web, as well as access, through the equipment, to sensors or electrical devices of a miniature control center. This allows an automaton (robot) to perform local supervision and the conducting of maneuvers at distance, with a reduction in the time to restore the power grid, improving the energy supply quality index. In order to enable the acquisition of data from any of the existing systems, or from the internal production of their own modules, the PLATOE system features tools that receive or provide information to manufacturers’ systems and data analysis applications. Moreover, it is able to generate and provide information to all cells and to other systems through the private or corporate network ( PLATOE GRID). The system can also, in real time, reconstruct lost information in formation storage units, which can be inserted or deleted without interrupting the system and its features, given the concept of "disaster recovery".
