Agency approves basic SHP and HEP projects

The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) approved the Couro do Cervo Basic Small Hydroelectric Plant Project (SHP) owned by LUZBOA S.A, located in Ribeirão São João (MG).The Couro do Cervo SHP will have installed capacity of 1,455 MW.

The Ferreira Gomes Basic HEP Project was also approved, owned by the utility, Ferreira Gomes Energia S.A.The plan is to build it on the Araguari River, in the state of Amapá. It was tendered in 2010. The negotiated energy price was R$ 69.82/MWh, which represented a discount of 15.9% compared to the maximum price established initially.The plant will have installed capacity of 252 MW and a 17.7 km2 reservoir. It will also be connected to the National Interconnected System – SIN.(HP/PG)
