Last Monday (5/7) the concession contract for exploring the Coaracy Nunes Hydroelectric Plant located in the municipality of Ferreira Gomes, in the state of Amapá, was signed at the head office of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL).
Exploration rights were granted to Centrais Elétricas do Norte (ELETRONORTE) in 1975 and a Ministry of Mines and Energy Directive of 1997 extended the exploration period for another 20 years.In April 2011, Eletronorte requested the formalization of the contract at the agency.
The plant is comprised of three generators with an installed capacity of 78,000 kW.(VS/PG)
