The concession of nine lots of the auction broadcasting No. 006/2011, conducted by the National Agency of Electrical Energy (ANEEL) in December last year, were signed on Thursday (May 10th) in a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Agency . Also, contracts for four of the five lots offered at auction No 002/2012 were signed, held in March this year. Lot C (lote C) of this auction had been signed last Tuesday (May 8th). Among the Participants at the event was the Director General of ANEEL, Nelson Hubner, and representatives of companies winners of the lots.
The enterprises offered in the auction No. 006/2011 comprise transmission facilities to be built in ten of the Brazilian states: Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Alagoas, Bahia, Sergipe, Rio Grande do Norte, Maranhão, Goiás and Amazonas. The period of the undetakings will range from 18 to 24 months from the date of the signing of contracts. The lines are approximately 1378 kilometers long, and aim at the enhancing of the National Interconnected System (SIN). The total investment for the construction of these lines are estimated at R$ 1.6 billion, directly generating 8,500 jobs.
The lots offered at the auction No. 002/2012 comprise facilities in Amazonas, Bahia, Mato Grosso, Goias, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro. The first two lots – A and B – are related to the transmission system that will connect the power plants of the Teles Pires River basin to the network, covering an extension of 1,697 km. The deadlines for the enterprises enter into operation are from 18 to 32 months. The investments require a total of R$ 2.9 billion and will generate 11,600 jobs.
