Energy consumers, agents and all interested segments of society may send contributions and participate in the 10 public hearings currently open by the National Energy Agency (ANEEL). The forwarded suggestions are assessed by the technical areas of the Agency, which prepare proposals for rules and regulations to be submitted for approval by the executive board in public meetings.
Subjects such as the First Cycle of Rate Revisions of licensing cooperatives of public energy distribution (1CRTPC), and the improvement of the third rate revision of Elektro (SP) and of Centrais Elétricas de Santa Catarina(CELESC) are undergoing public hearing. In addition, interested parties may send contributions to discuss the repowering of generating units that can bring gains in operating efficiency and aggregate availability of power in the National Interconnected System – SIN.
The public hearing is an instrument to support decision-making process of the Agency for broad consultation with civil society and precedes the editing rules and regulations. In many cases, hearings can look forward to the accomplishment of public sessions, to face the manifestation of stakeholders. Other hearings are held only by exchanging documents.
