Agency approves Basic Projects of SHPs located in SP, MT and RS

The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) has approved the Basic Projects of Small Hydropower Plants (SHPs) Quebra Dentes (Rio do Peixe, RS), Ponte Branca (Rio Pardo, SP), and Nova Mutum (Rio dos Patos, MT). Owned by the companies Quevedos Energética S.A., PB Produção de Energia Elétrica Ltda., and Agroenergética Mato Grosso Ltda., the SHPs will have an installed capacity of 22.36MW, 10.19MW, and 14MW, respectively.

Hydropower Inventory Studies were also approved for Perdido River, located in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul. Prepared by companies Alupar Investimentos S.A. and L&S Par, these studies calculated a total inventoried power of approximately 14.7MW, distributed in 7 developments.

Hydropower Inventory Studies of Caí River, in turn, which is located in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, were not approved by the agency. The studies are owned by the company Performance Centrais Hidrelétricas Ltda.
