The BrazilianElectricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL, in Portuguese) has carried out today (06/14) one more cycleof the public hearing of the 3rd periodic tariff review of CEB Distribuição S/A, in a live session in Brasília. CEB supplies power to 882 thousand consumer unities located in the Federal District.

The public hearing, chairedby ANEEL’s director André Pepitone da Nóbrega, had 156 attendees. Among them are: representatives of dwellers associations, community municipalities and unions, deputies, college students and representatives of the Brazilian Association of Power Distribution.

It was introduced in the hearing the proposal of the preliminary average effect of CEB’s third tariff review that predicts 6.01% increase in the consumers’ bills. The final index of
the concessionary review will be approved in a meeting between ANEEL’s board of directors, to be held after contributions analysis made in the public hearing. The final index will be applied on August 16th, 2012.

The tariff review will be on concession contracts with the purpose of obtaining a balance of tariffsbased on the payment of investments of companies offering distribution services and coverage of expenditure recognized by ANEEL. It is applied on the distribution concessionaries every 4 years, average. (DB/PG)
