The company Itaú Unibanco S/A was allowed to act as the self-producing electricity agent* as of the establishment and operation of thermal power plant (TPP) Itaú Unibanco – Tatuapé, located in São Paulo.The termal plant, with eight megawatts (MW) of installed power, uses diesel as fuel.
The authorization was decided at the meeting of the collegiate Board of ANEEL held last Tuesday (07/10).Currently, Brazil has 279 self-producers of energy, of which 35 sell the surplus energy produced.
