Today (9/20) is the beginning of the period for submission of contributions to Public Hearing 073/2012, whose purpose is to review Normative Resolution 300/2008, which addresses the Energy Efficiency Program (PPE) Preparation handbook. The proposal is to improve the standard, which currently has points for discussions, such as heavy concentration of resources in units that consume low power and the small effectiveness of actions in terms of changing habits and market transformation; small number of projects with performance agreements, which is required for for-profit consumer units, and possibility inclusion of electricity generation projects from sources encouraged in the PPE.

According to Act 9,991 of July 24, 2000, the concessionaires and permit holders of public electricity distribution services are required to apply, on a yearly basis, the minimum percentage of net operating revenue – ROL in energy efficiency programs.
