The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica – ANEEL) promotes on Friday (11/09) a live session of public hearing Nº 083/2012, in the city of São José do Rio Pardo (SP), to present the proposal with the preliminary index of the Third Periodic Tariff Review for Companhia Leste Paulista de Energia (CPFL Leste Paulista). The hearing has the objective of collecting contributions from consumers and representatives from public and private institutions, from consumer defense organs, from resident associations and from the other segments of society for the concession company’s review process.

ANEEL’s proposal for the review for CPFL Sul Paulista predicts an average increase of 1.21% in the concession company’s tariffs. The distributor provides energy to seven municipalities in São Paulo state: São José do Rio Pardo, Casa Branca, Caconde, Divinolândia, Itobi, São Sebastião da Grama and Tapiratiba, serving approximately 50 thousand consumers. The tariff revision is planned in the concession contracts and aims to obtain the balance of rates based on the return on investments of companies focused on the provision of distribution services and coverage of expenses actually recognized by ANEEL. It is applied to the distribution concession companies every four years, on average. (VS/PG)
