The Board of the National Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) approved today (11/13) the public notice of Auction 06/2012, called A-5, for the purchase of electricity from hydropower, wind and biomass- or combined cycle gas-based thermal generation projects.
The beginning of supply of the projects contracted is scheduled for January 1, 2017, with the closing of Regulated Environment Power Trade Agreements (CCEAR) in the modalities by amount of energy (water sources), with a term of 30 years, and by availability (wind and thermal), with a term of 20 years. In the case of hydropower plants, winners will also receive a grant of concession for use of the public property used for independent power production. At this auction, the highlight was the participation of the Sinop plant (400MW), which has an average 242.5MW. In addition, there are projects located in the states of Piauí, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Pará, Amapá, and Paraná.
In total, 585 electricity generation projects were registered at Empresa de Pesquisa de Energética (EPE). Together, the plants have an installed capacity of 25,098MW. The event, scheduled for December 14, will be operated by the Electricity Trade Chamber (CCEE), in accordance with guidelines of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME).
