The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) [Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica] will hold a live seesion for Public Hearing nº 94/2012 in Campina Grande, Paraíba state, on the 7th of December. The objective is to discuss the tariff revision of concessionaire Energisa Borborema, which serves the city of Campina Grande and five other cities in the state. The new rates will go into effect starting February 4, 2013.
The figures submitted to the hearing by ANEEL consist of preliminary adjustment average of 2.09% for all consumers of the concessionaire. The expectation is for an increase to the residential consumer, to 5.07%, a rate lower than the projection of the IGP for the period of February 2012 to January 2013, which is 8.31%. As for large commercial and industrial consumers, the forecast is a decrease of 4.63%.
The hearing will also discuss the quality of service and the limits for the period 2014 to 2017. Even with a history of quality indicators below the overall limit set by ANEEL, Energisa Borborema paid to consumers in 2010, 166,803 compensation totaling R $ 143,917.92. Already in 2011 were 172,648 compensation totaling R $ 163,529.00 returned directly to consumers in the bill, for violation of individual indicators of DIC, FIC and DMIC, calculated each consumer unit.
The hearing process started on November 8 and continues until December 10. The live session will take place starting at 2 p.m., in the auditorium of the Federação das Indústrias do Estado da Paraíba, in Campina Grande.
