The Board of Directors of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency [Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica] established today (12/04) during the public meeting the sum of power hired and energy linked to the Itaipu hydroelectric plant (UHE) to be commercialized in the year of 2013 by Eletrobrás with the respective electricity distributors of the South and Southeast/Midwest subsystems and the values corresponding to the quotas that should be considered in the apportionment of power and energy for the year of 2018. According to Law # 5.899/1973, the total amount of energy purchased from Itaipu in Brazil and the respective cost will be distributed among the distributors of Southeast/Midwest and South subsystems in proportion to the shares they are designated by the Granting Power.
The part quotas for the year of 2018 were calculated observing the values in reference to the invoiced market of captive consumers of each quota dealer, verified in the period covered between September 2011 and August 2012, as established in Resolution # 331/2008. (DB/PG)
