The executive board of Aneel approved today (12/18) in public meeting the new value of the rate of transfer of energy produced by Itaipu power plant at US$ 26.08 per kilowatt (kW). The figure represents an adjustment of 4.81% over the current rate in 2012 of US$ 24.88 per kilowatt.
The new tariff will go into effect on January 1st 2013. The rate of transfer is the amount to be paid by unitholder distributors to acquire energy from the dam, which is marketed by Eletrobrás. There are 31 unitholder distributors located in the South, Southeast and Midwest. (DB/PG)
