There were no parties interested in bidding on Lot H of Transmission Auction # 07/2012, held by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) [Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica] this Wednesday (12/19). The lot, composed by the Rio Branco I –Feijó, Feijó –Cruzeiro do sul transmission lines and by Feijó and Cruzeiro do Sul substations, located in the state of Acre, shall enter the next events to be held by the Agency.
The purpose of Lot H is to interconnect the central and west regions of the State of Acre to the National Interconnected System (SIN – Sistema Interligado Nacional) and directly benefit the municipalities of Feijó and Tarauacá, in the central region, and Cruzeiro do Sul, Rodrigues Alves and Mâncio Lima in the Western region, beside the municipality of Guajará, in Amazonas. After the interconnection, the thermal diesel generation that supplies the region will be reduced. (PG/DB)
