The Board of the National Agency of Electric Energy (ANEEL) approved in a public meeting held last Friday (12/21) the Regulation establishing the methodology of calculation of revenue from sale of electricity from the generating plants Angra 1 and 2 and set the value of BRL 1.8 billion for fixed revenue relating to 2013, resulting from energy generation power plants.

At the same meeting, the Agency also established the methodology for calculating the shares of the conditions for generation and sale of power from these plants. In addition, ANEEL determined the values of final rate between the Furnas plant and the Eletronuclear plant for the years 2010 through 2012 at BRL 131.41/MWh, BRL 136.91/MWh and BRL 144.57/MWh, respectively. The difference between these values and those provisionally applied will be transferred to the Furnas plant between the years 2013 and 2015.

In 2009, an amendment to the regulations established that, from January 1, 2013, the payment of the revenue resulting from the generation of energy from generators, to the Eletronuclear plant, will be prorated among all concessionaires, permittees or authorized companies for public distribution in the National Interconnected System (SIN), and that the revenue will be resulting from the rate calculated annually and approved by ANEEL.

The Angra I and II nuclear plants have installed capacity of 657 megawatts (MW) and 1,350 MW, respectively. The two power plants controlled by Eletronuclear are located in the municipality of Angra dos Reis (RJ). (DB)
