The signing of five concession agreements of Transmission Auction 07/2012 was held today (2/25) at the headquarters of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) and was attended by the Director General of the Agency, Nelson Hubner, and representatives of the winning consortia. The other two agreements concerning lots D and G will be signed only the completion of the documentation.
 
Held on 12/21/12 at the headquarters of BM&FBOVESPA, in São Paulo, the auction ended with a 21.7% discount. Altogether, eight lots were offered, one of which, lot H, had no interest parties and should be included in the next auctions to be conducted by the Agency. Fifteen transmission lines and eight substations were tendered in the states of Tocantins, Goiás, Acre, Piauí, Maranhão, Bahia, Ceará, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Minas Gerais, and São Paulo. The maximum reference Allowed Annual Revenue (RAP)* payable to entrepreneurs, set out in the public notice, is R$476.1 million, already including the extinction of the Global Reversion Reserve (RGR) as of 2013, as determined by Provisional Measure 579/2012. During the signing ceremony, Director-General Nelson Hubner stressed that Auction 07/202, the first held after the issuance of Provisional Measure 579/2012, addressing tariff reduction, had strong investors, contradicting the idea that there would be no interest in the event due to the conditions imposed in the MP. “This auction had large, important lots in the Northeast, besides strong competition from groups such as Abengoa and Copel. It was proven that the interest in the sector continues despite speculation regarding MP 579/2012”, he said.
 

The period of completion of the works will be 22 to 36 months and the concession contracts are valid for 30 years. Below is the list of the winning companies. (PG/DB)
