The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica – ANEEL) promotes next Thursday (02/28) a live session of Public Hearing Nº 003/2013, which objective is to discuss with society the proposal for tariff review for Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz (CPFL Paulista). The live session will be chaired by the Agency’s director Edvaldo Santana, starting at 8:30 a.m., in Auditório Centro Kennedy, located at Av. Rio de Janeiro, number 327, São Bernardo neighborhood, in the city of Campinas.
The values submitted to the hearing by ANEEL consist of a preliminary readjustment proposal in the concession company’s tariffs. For the residential consumers, the proposal is a reduction of -3.31% (negative). Whereas for the industries, the proposal is for an average increase of 13.68%. The final indexes will only be known in the beginning of April, when the subject will be deliberated by the Agency’s Board of Directors in an Ordinary Public Meeting. CPFL Paulista serves 3.75 million consumer units in 234 cities in São Paulo.
The tariff reviews promoted by ANEEL are preceded by public hearings, in which the agency seeks to hear society and receive contributions from the sector’s agents and shareholders in the process. The process is applied in the distribution concession companies every four years, on average. The hearing will also discuss the service quality and the limits of the continuity indicators *DEC and **FEC of the sets of the mentioned concession company stipulated for the period of 2014 to 2018.
