The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica – ANEEL) promotes next Thursday (03/07) a live session of the Public Hearing to discuss the 3rd Tariff Review for Hydroelectric Plant Nova Palma Ltda (UHENPAL). The session will be chaired by the Agency’s director André Pepitone da Nóbrega, starting at 8:30 a.m., at the Câmara Municipal de Faxinal do Soturno, located at rua Sete de Setembro, number 790, in Rio Grande do Sul.
The session has the objective of debating the reduction proposal of -4.10% for the distributor’s residential consumer. For the industries, the proposal is an average increase of 10.40%. The hearing will also discuss the service quality and the limits for continuity indicators *DEC and **FEC for the concession company stipulated for the period of 2014 to 2017.
The tariff reviews promoted by ANEEL are preceded by public hearings, in which the agency seeks to hear society and receive contributions from the sector’s agents and shareholders in the process. After the end of the contribution period, the subject will be deliberated in the Board of Director’s meeting, which will decide for the final index to be practiced by the distributor starting 04/19/2013. The tariff review is foreseen in the concession contracts and has the objective to obtain the balance of the tariff based on the remuneration of the companies’ investments aimed to the providing of distribution services and coverage of expenses effectively acknowledged by ANEEL. It is applied in the distribution concession companies every four years, on average.
UHENPAL serves 14 thousand consumer units located in the municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul of Faxinal do Soturno, Nova Palma, Dona Francisca, Ivorá, Silveira Martins, São João do Polêsine and Restinga Seca and part of the municipalities Santa Maria and Júlio de Castilhos. (DB/PG)
