The collegiate board of directors of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency [Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica] approved, today (03/05), the opening of a Public Hearing, in the period between March 7 and 21, to collect subsidies and information for the perfecting of the proposal of the normative act that establishes dispositions related to the audit contracting for the Energetic Efficiency and Technological Development and Research Programs for the Electricity Sector.
Normative Resolution # 495/2012 provides for the obligation of the electric companies to hire auditing firms, to evaluate, under the technical, financial and accounting aspects, the result of Energy Efficiency (EE) and the Technological Research and Development (R&D) Programs. However, audit firms have signaled the impossibility of meeting the provisions of this resolution, in particular, the requirement that the professional responsible for conducting the technical audit, with the requirements defined in the standard, should integrate the company’s professional staff.
ANEEL decided, therefore, to revoke the current standard and issue a new normative act to implement new dispositions related to the audit contracting for the EE and R&D programs.
The shareholders may send contributions, in the period of 03/07 to 03/21 to the e-mail: ap015_2013@aneel.gov.br, by fax (61) 2192-8839 or to the Agency’s address (SGAN, Quadra 603, Módulo I, Térreo, Protocolo Geral, CEP: 70.830-030), in Brasília (DF). (VS)
