The Board of Directors of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL – Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica) approved this past Tuesday (03/19), during the Public Board of Directors Meeting, alteration in the Accounting Manual of the National Electric System Operation (ONS – Operador Nacional do Sistema Elétrico) in order to incorporate the specific ledger accounts in the record of possible fines imposed by the Agency. The Resolution also provides for the mandatory details of the reasons which lead to the penalty, which is derived from that punitive process, in which the Infraction notice was issued and there is no possibility of appeal.
The ONS Accounting Manual was instituted by Normative Resolution Nº 73/2003. (PG/DB)
