Public Hearing discusses tariff review for RGE (RS)

Fonte: ANEELThis Thursday (03/28) starts the term for sending contributions to Public Hearing Nº 023/2013 which will discuss with society the tariff review proposal for distributor Rio Grande Energia S/A (RGE). The measure was approved today (03/26) by the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica – ANEEL) during a Public Meeting. The matter will be discussed in a live session on April 25, in the city of Caxias do Sul (RS).

The values submitted to the hearing by ANEEL consist of a preliminary proposal of a reduction of -10.93% on the bill for the concession company’s residential consumers. For industries, the proposal is for an average reduction of -5.55%. The final indexes will only be known in June, when the matter will be deliberated by the Agency’s Board of Directors in an Ordinary Public Meeting. The tariff readjustment will be applied starting June 19.
The tariff review is foreseen in the concession contracts and has the objective to obtain the balance of the tariff based on the remuneration of the companies’ investments aimed to the providing of distribution services and coverage of expenses effectively acknowledged by ANEEL. It is applied in the distribution concession companies every four years, on average. The hearing will also discuss the service quality and the limits for continuity indicators *DEC and **FEC for the concession company stipulated for the period of 2014 to 2018.
